Seems like everything is a ghost town… I realised i havent posted to the blog for over a month (ghost town). My computer room hasnt been used in a while due to work (ghost town). My brain has gone missing because of how mentally frustrating this assignment has been (now a ghost town).
I have been able to balance 2/3 sections and the income statement is sending me up the wall. No matter what im doing, it doesnt balance!
In any of you smart cookies out there have the time and and want to provide me some feedback as to what im doing wrong, i would really appreciate it!
You can find my spreadsheet here: tysonmacgregoreducation.school.blog/assignment-2-step-3/
OMG!! Someone else in the same boat, I cannot for the life on me balance my income statement and I have spent 4 full days trying! I have got the closest I have been and I am still $1600 out or less in each year. I am at the point of giving up as I feel as if I have tried and tired everything I can.

i know exactly how you feel! i have done it many different ways and how i sit currently is like 5m out for each year. Im seriously at a loss! i cant think of anything im doing wrong, i follow the video time and time again.
One thing i notice though is my company’s Statement of comprehensive income is just adjustments, it doesnt actually have the same details as the SOCIE… that could be my issue but im lost

Yes, I know exactly what you mean. I followed the video a million times, restarted that many times and tried to go off the template to ensure I had everything right and still no luck. One problem I found with mine was some numbers were under a different heading but were repeating the same cost. So I went back to my annual reports and checked what had been repeated. If that makes sense and took some things out. Not sure if its the right thing to do but it brought mine down by a few hundred thousand. But I am really at my witts end and can’t figure it out no matter what I try.

yep, been through my reports and even looked at my notes to ensure they are being put into the right section. still to no avail!
everything totals up until i do my tax expense section…. for some reason, 2016 for example the tax paid was 10,186 but then tax benefit is 7m… no idea why, but thats from following the video

I found the problem Tyson – sorry its late and after our assignment was due. It was due to a line item “Operating Loss” being included under operating expense.

No that’s okay, I had a chat with Maria about it and we determined it was that! Everything balances now thankfully however was an absolute headache trying to figure out why it wouldn’t balance 😂 friendly reminder to myself is to take notice of the titles
